The makers of the Prabhas starrer confirmed the film’s release for Christmas 2023
Salaar had one of the most ideal release dates this year - September 28. Once it faced postponement due to delay in post-production, it provided a window for many films to flourish. Now that it’s arriving on December 22, Telugu cinema is witnessing round two of release date reshuffling due to the Prabhas starrer. Saindhav, Hi Nanna, were also to release in the same week as per initial plan.
After Salaar’s surprise arrival for Christmas, it has been reported that the makers of Hi Nanna have moved ahead and are planning to release the film on December 7. The emotional drama is a pan-Indian release for Nani and Mrunal Thakur and it’ll now lock horns with two other promising films in the same weekend - Operation Valentine (December 8) and Gangs of Godavari (December 9).
Meanwhile, the team of Venkatesh’s pan-Indian film Saindhav has decided to join the already crowded list of films releasing for Sankranthi 2024. The film, to now release on January 13, 2024, also stars Shraddha Srinath, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Andrea Jeremiah, Ruhani Sharma. Nithiin’s Extra Ordinary Man may release on December 23 (as per plan) or opt for January 26, 2024.
The fans of Nani, Venkatesh and Nithiin are slightly unhappy about how Salaar’s sudden release date announcement has caused a lot of confusion among other films, which had confirmed their release plans much in advance. However, for theatre owners, it’s going to be ‘merry’ Christmas with much anticipated films of Prabhas (Salaar) and Shah Rukh Khan (Dunki), that are expected to open well.
Take a look at the release dates of all the biggies arriving this December (and early January).
