While the news around Salaar’s postponement may not have been made official by the production house Hombale Films yet, it is more or less confirmed that Prabhas-Prashanth Neel’s actioner won’t be arriving on September 28. After Salaar’s delay, as many as three Telugu films are set to clash at the box office in the same weekend - Skanda, Rules Ranjann and Peddha Kapu.

The teams of Rules Ranjann and Peddha Kapu, few days ago, had confirmed that the films would be hitting screens on September 28 and 29. Skanda team announced the film’s arrival on September 28 today. “The Massive Energetic Storm coming on Perfect Date.#Skanda The Attacker unleashes unlimited MASS in theatres on September 28th. #SkandaOnSep28 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam & Kannada!”

Sharing the news, Skanda team also unveiled a poster featuring the film’s lead pair Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela in a traditional avatar. While Ram is seen in a white dhoti, Sreeleela dons a saffron lehenga choli in the image. Skanda, the first pan-Indian film in Ram Pothineni’s career, is written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The film is jointly produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen and ZEE Studios.

Three songs from Skanda are out already, which enjoyed decent feedback from listeners. S Thaman is scoring the music for the same. Saiee Manjrekar, Srikanth, Gauthami, Prince are also part of Skanda. There’s no doubt that Skanda will be the first choice of the moviegoers in the same weekend, followed by Rules Ranjann and Peddha Kapu.

Despite the absence of recognisable faces, one still can’t afford to underestimate Peddha Kapu, given the credentials of its director Srikanth Addala. Ultimately, it’s a win-win situation for Telugu viewers and the industry with varied films during the four-day-extended weekend - Skanda is a mass actioner, Rules Ranjann is an out-and-out fun entertainer and Peddha Kapu is an action drama.
