Suryangam, the first song from Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Salaar, released on December 13, has already created a lot of excitement among Keralites. Indulekha Warrier has sung the song, penned by renowned lyricist and producer Rajeev Govindan. In a conversation with OTTPlay, the duo shared their experience while working on such a highly anticipated film.
A hardworking team, says Rajeev
Rajeev Govindan remarked that he was excited to work in Salaar due to the team working behind it. “I have penned lyrics for Kannada film Kabzaa’s songs in Malayalam. Generally speaking, I don't like working on dubbed songs because they rarely have an organic impact. But director Prashanth Neel and music director Ravi Basrur insisted on incorporating the appropriate improvisations while writing and composing songs for each language,” he said.
Without giving away too many details, Rajeev, who had visited the movie's sets, said that the audience would find the movie amusing. "Prithviraj and Prashanth are excellent filmmakers who get along well. They work hard and take a serious approach to achieving the output they have in their minds," he continued.

An unexpected opportunity: Singer Indulekha Warrier
Indulekha remembers putting all of her work on hold in order to quickly travel to Basrur and record a track for Salaar following Rajeev’s call. “My husband, Anand, was more thrilled than I was to receive such an opportunity. Anand was determined not to let this opportunity slip away, no matter what. He is a huge fan of Prashanth Neel's KGF. The same day I received the call, I made my way to Basrur,” she said.

Indulekha is going to release her latest rap song soon. She is currently preoccupied with her own band, Indulekha Live, and her YouTube channel.
