Salaar box office collection Day 1 - Prabhas' film makes a grand start in Telangana; earns ₹22 crore

Salaar was one of the most awaited films in the country as Prabhas had teamed up with Prashanth Neel of KGF fame for the first time in his career. Fans of Prabhas were waiting for their star hero to score a hit and make a comeback. Well, Prabhas has done just that as Salaar has started with a bang in Telugu states.

The day-one numbers are out and Salaar has taken a record start in the state of Telangana. The Prashanth Neel starrer has made Rs 22 crore share in the Nizam area. This is a record collection and stands second to RRR which made Rs 24 crore on day one in this region.

One of the trade experts states that Salaar would have bagged the top spot if it had been released in most of the multiplexes. Going into details, a few multiplex chains did not release Salaar on their screens on day one and most of the screens were given to Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki which was released a day earlier.

If not for this, Salaar would have happily crossed RRR's collections, says the trade experts. However, Dunki has taken off to a dull start in Telugu states. Seeing this, the screens of Dunki are being given to Salaar now. The trade expert continues to add that the day two and three collections of Salaar will be huge in Telugu states as the film is off to a blockbuster start.

In other regions of Andra Pradesh, Salaar has also taken a good start. As per the update, Prabhas is quite upset with the way his film is not given enough screens by the multiplex chains.

All this will be changed in the days to come as Salaar has no competition as not many big Telugu films are up for a release next week. Shruthi Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran played key roles in this film.
