Knowing Prashanth Neel will pull out all the stops to make Salaar yet another successful franchise, how much longer will it be before Salaar 2 goes on floors? And where does that leave NTR 31?
The whole awaits the mayhem of Salaar, the new offering from the collaboration of Hombale Films and Prashanth Neel. Having delivered a mighty success in the form of KGF 2 and putting Kannada cinema on the national map, Neel & Co. are now presenting a two-part epic whose first half, titled Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, is set to be unleashed this September 28th.
Of course, they have the name of Prabhas on the marquee which only makes things bigger and (hopefully) better. Prabhas' fans, though, surely hope that the film marks the actor's bona fide return to form, considering that his previous three outings have fared quite poorly in terms of reception.
So, with Part 1 of Salaar nearly dealt with and packaged (Prashanth Neel and Ravi Basrur are currently working on the BGM, we hear), one wonders about the prospects of Part 2 of the film. It is no secret that Neel, as a director, likes to invest a lot of his time in his films and also that he has signed on to direct multiple other projects, one of which is 'NTR 31' with superstar Jr NTR.
The Jr. NTR project is originally meant to go on floors in March 2024 but the latest speculations are that the project could get further delayed owing to Prashanth Neel's Salaar 2 commitments. But what we believe is that the filmmaker will get started with Part 2 of Salaar only next year, meaning that he would first want to take time to prep and then take it on floors.
And knowing the way Prashanth Neel likes to function, he would take no half-measures in getting things done with respect to Salaar 2. We hear that the second part has already been scripted but the makers would need a significant amount of time to take it on floors. Taking stock of things, it would seem that Salaar Part 2 would go on floors sometime in the first half of 2024. Not to forget, the availability of Prabhas, too, is an important factor that could guide the development completely on its own.

So, in this vein, does the "buzz" about NTR 31 going on floors by mid-2024 seem valid? Well, as already pointed out, Neel will pull out all the stops to make Salaar yet another successful franchise and the scale of the second part, too, would demand a lot out of him. Would he choose to work on the two mighty projects simultaneously? Unlikely, but never say never!
