Saiyami Kher roped in as a cricket expert for a special show on cricket

With this, she is the first Bollywood actor to do so

The year 2016 saw the release of the film named ‘Mirzya’. The film gave Bollywood two debutante actors in the form of Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher. Speaking o f Saiyami Kher, she has always been in the news because of her films (of course!) and also because of the fact that she is equally a sports enthusiast. Be it her being a regular at Tennis Grand Slams, representing her school in the game of cricket and getting selected for the National team and also for being a pro in the game of badminton, so much so that she had even got selected in state championships for badminton. If that wasn’t enough, Saiyami Kher is also a professional sprinter and has been training for taking up the challenge of Ironman 70.3 race in New Zealand!

Being a sportswoman at heart, it’s a given that she gives utmost importance to timing and discipline. And it is owing to her sporting background and her love for the game and knowledge about sports that Saiyami Kher has now been roped in to anchor a special show for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). The 16th edition of the IPL which started a few days back (March 31, to be precise), will see Saiyami discussing sports with various people. She has been roped in as an analytic expert recapping the matches played by the different teams.

Speaking about this association, Saiyami said, ‘Sport is a very integral of my life, I’m very excited to be a part of the cricbuzz family. I have been obsessed with the game since I was a child and have hero-worshipped so many of the players who are now experts on a leading portal for cricket. I have just finished playing a cricketer on screen and wrapped up 2 other films before I start my next film end of May. So the timing for this assignment couldn’t have been better.”

On the film front, Saiyami Kher will now be seen in her upcoming film ‘Ghoomer’. The film will see her playing the role of a para athlete. The character which she will be playing in the film is that of a girl who is a ‘leg—handed’ cricket prodigy. Besides Saiyami Kher, the film ‘Ghoomer’ also stars Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi. The film is being directed by R Balki. The film will also see Abhishek Bachchan in the role of Saiyami Kher’s coach.
