Saif Ali Khan’s old video where he joked about not reading Faiz and Ghalib at his young age was making the rounds on the internet last year.
Actor Saif Ali Khan has spoken about an old interview in which he listed Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Mirza Ghalib as his favourite poets, and later joked about not doing so because he was too young.
Saif said in a new interview with Zoom said that he believes he was 'on medicine' at the time and wasn’t 'completely mentally all there.'
As shown in the last interview, Saif was asked a question on poetry, and he mentioned knowing of two renowned poets called Faiz and Ghalib. “My grandma used to read it, and my father still does. Is this the age to read such things? "Yeh koi umar hai inn cheezon ko padhne ka (Is this the age to read such things?).”
He continued, "Padhne jaayein toh Quran Sharif bhi kamaal ki poetry hai" (Quran Sharif has exquisite poetry as well),” he said. All of this was immediately followed by a giggle and him saying, "I am talking totally rubbish."
The actor, who must have been in his twenties at the time of the interview, stated that he was modest at the time, a trait he sees in his son Ibrahim Ali Khan as well. Saif still believes that keeping the same attitude later in life is neither necessary nor beneficial.
Currently, Saif is working on a number of projects. He is in the film Vikram Vedha, which also stars Hrithik Roshan and Adipurush with Prabhas.
