Saif Ali Khan meets auto driver who rushed him to hospital after knife attack; latter says actor gave him money, assured help

The auto driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, who took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital after the knife attack, recently met the actor.

On January 21, Saif Ali Khan was discharged and he returned home after getting injured in the knife attack. He was repeatedly stabbed with a knife by an intruder inside his apartment in Bandra in the wee hours of January 16. He was rushed to the hospital as he suffered multiple injuries and underwent emergency surgery at the Lilavati Hospital. The auto driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, who took him to the hospital recently met the actor. While speaking to the media, the driver revealed that Saif gave him some money and he assured him to help whenever needed.

Saif Ali Khan meets auto driver who saved him

Saif was admitted to Bandra's Lilavati hospital. He met the auto driver in the hospital on January 21, before being discharged. Bhajan Singh Rana told PTI that he met Saif, and the actor thanked him for helping him reach the hospital. The driver also said that he praised him, and even got his family's blessings.

Rana further told the agency, "He (Saif) introduced me to his mother (Sharmila Tagore), and I touched her feet. He gave me (money) whatever he felt was right, and said whenever I need help, he will be there."

The auto driver also spoke to ANI and said that he was happy to meet such a big star and his family. He added, "I can't blame him for not paying me when I took him to the hospital; how will anyone in such a situation. It would be okay if someone in that situation doesn't even pay, you just want them to be safe."

Man who entered Saif Ali Khan's residence, arrested

The intruder named Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India and changed his name to Vijay Das was arrested on January 19 from Thane. He could enter Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence as the security guards were asleep, according to the Mumbai Police. After this life-threatening incident, the security around their residence has been heightened.
