Sai Pallavi, up next, has Gargi in her kitty. Directed by Gautham Ramachandran, the courtroom drama, is presented by Jyotika and Suriya, under 2D Entertainment.
Sai Pallavi, who was seen latest in Virata Parvam, in the role of a woman who falls in love with a Naxal leader and writer, said she'd love to work with Thalapathy Vijay. However, the Premam actor, in an interview, had clarified that this would happen only if she comes across a good script. “I am open to working with big stars like Vijay sir, but I should be convinced by the script,” she added.
The actor, who is awaiting the release of Gargi, is emotionally attached to the characters she plays. “For instance, if I am to cry, I need to grow that emotion. I’d need at least 30-40 seconds to start crying,” she said, in an interview.
Sai Pallavi feels that movies have the potential to make people think and reflect on varied topics. “When I heard about incidences of gender discrimination while studying in Georgia, I felt powerless, wondering if we could do something collectively. As an actor, I get to be a part of interesting and real stories. We live in an era where everything is available on mobile phones and laptop computers, especially since the epidemic,” she told a leading English daily, adding how she feels responsible to be a part of morally right stories.
Gargi, which will hit the screens on July 15, is directed by Gautham Ramachandran. In the three-minute teaser, the actor is seen as a teacher visiting court when one of her family members is entangled in a legal matter.
Billed as a courtroom drama, Gargi will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Speaking to OTTplay, Gautham Ramachandran assures the audience would find it refreshing to watch Gargi. “I wanted to tell a different story. At the same time, I tried to keep the narrative as genuine as possible, instead of sticking to a template,” he added.
