Sahil Mehta has been on a roll lately. While he impressed audiences with his quirky timing in the intriguing dark comedy Good Luck Jerry (headlined by Jahnvi Kapoor), he complemented the likes of Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar with assurance in Raksha Bandhan earlier this month. The actor has been growing from strength to strength with each performance and he’s got another reason to smile for not one but two of his upcoming projects.

After earning critical acclaim for his performances in his recent films, Sahil is back in the news for his two short films- Birha and Pariah (also referred to as Gair). Besides coming up with assured portrayals in both the shorts, he’s on cloud nine, for the projects are now making the right noises at the festival circuit. Pariah, helmed by national-award winning filmmaker Nishant Roy Bombarde made a mark at three film fests recently - New York Indian Film Festival, Kashish Queer Film Festival and The International Short Film Festival of Kerala.

In addition, Sahil was also nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance at the Kashish Queer Film Festival. That’s not all. His short film Birha was officially selected at the Hollywood Short Festival. The team of Birha is a happy lot, for they believe all the hard work and efforts have finally paid off. Birha team earned big at the Hollywood Shorts Fest 2022 in the Best Foreign Short Film category. Birha also stars Rajit Kapur, Manav Vig and Seema Kaushal.

Thankful for the honours for both the films and the appreciation for his performances, Sahil Mehta is thrilled. The budding actor shares, “We made both these films with the right intention and lots of passion. We’re grateful that these films got a chance to make their presence felt on prestigious platforms. It could have only been possible with teamwork and our sleepless nights during shoot. 2022 is shaping up well for me. My movies, performances are being received well by critics and audiences alike. I feel humbled.”
