Sachin Pilgaonkar is one of the most popular faces in the film and television industry. The actor has worked in both Hindi and Marathi films and yet, he is stereotyped as a Marathi actor.

Stressing that he has done more Hindi films than Marathi and great ones too, Sachin told IANS, "I don't want filmmakers to put a stamp that if it's a Marathi character then only they think about me."

Interestingly, Sachin recently worked in City of Dreams season 2. The actor was part of the first season too. He played the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the series.

Sachin has been working since he was six years old. The actor made his debut with Ha Majha Marg Ekla in 1962.

The actor also directed films, which made it tough for him to take up many acting assignments. "When an actor becomes a director, his acting assignments reduce in number," he said.

Apart from Hindi and Marathi cinema, Sachin has also worked in a few Bhojpuri films. He became popular after his role in the TV show Tu Tu Main Main. For the uninitiated, Sachin was a part of Amitabh Bachchan's Satte Pe Satta, where he played one of the seven brothers.

While Sachin and his wife Supriya Pilgaonkar are loved by many and need no introduction, their daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar is also slowly carving her niche in the OTT space. She played an important role in the Amazon Prime Video Original Mirzapur. More recently, she was seen in Voot original Crackdown.
