Saba Nayagan, a romantic drama, will make its digital debut on Disney+ Hotstar next month to coincide with Valentine's month
Actor Ashok Selvan's romantic drama Saba Nayagan, which was released in theatres in December 2023, will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar starting February 1. This has been strategically planned to cash in on Valentine's Day. Directed by CS Karthikeyan, Saba Nayagan also stars Megha Akash, Karthika Muralidharan and Chandini Chowdary as the three female leads.
The film is the story of Saba (Ashok Selvan), who is arrested for creating public nuisance while drunk. When another man who is heartbroken is released from prison, Saba shares his heartbreak stories.

The movie, which was released last year, opened to mixed-to-positive reviews from audiences, who enjoyed the light-hearted theme of the film.
Ashok Selvan, who is known for romantic dramas such as Oh My Kadavule, revealed that he liked the theme of the film. In an interview, the actor revealed that Saba Nayagan is a community experience. “We have tried to evoke a particular emotion in a fun and entertaining film. It is a film that college students can enjoy watching. It is a community-watching experience. It is not like Por Thozhil, where you have to concentrate on the details of each frame,” the actor explained.
Besides Ashok Selvan, the film also stars three female leads, played by Megha Akash, Karthika Muralidharan and Chandini Chowdary. They play the love interests at different stages of Saba’s life.
Besides the lead cast, the romantic drama also stars Mayilsamy, Michael Thangadurai, Udumalai Ravi, Arun Kumar, Jaiseelan Sivaram, Sriram Krish, Sherlin Seth, Viviyasanth, Akshaya Hariharan and Tulasi Shivamani in key roles.
Meanwhile, the Tamil actor’s latest outing Blue Star, a sports drama, hit the theatres today (January 25). The film is based on clashes between two teams in a cricket contest. Shanthnu and Keerthi Pandian play other lead characters in this sports drama which is directed by S Jeyakumar and bankrolled by director Pa Ranjith.
