Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo trailer: Dimple Kapadia wows in a powerful avatar in Homi Adajania’s web series

The queens are kings in this Disney+ Hotstar web series, which is a refreshing take on saas-bahu sagas

The trailer for Homi Adajania’s web series Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo is out, and one word comes to mind: powerful! Dimple Kapadia is seen in an all-new avatar as Savitri, who runs the biggest drug cartel in South Asia.

The gritty and action-packed battle is about a saas (Dimple Kapadia), bahus (Angira Dhar and Isha Talwar), and beti (Radhika Madan) doing whatever is required to protect what’s rightfully theirs.

The women of the show are refreshingly bada*s, resilient, and not afraid to own their choices. The series also stars Naseerudin Shah, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal, and Monica Dogra. 

Speaking about his hard-hitting show that shatters patriarchy, director and creator Homi said, "Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo is not for the faint-hearted. Many skeletons tumble out of the closet in this saas-bahu household, and mayhem reigns when these inimitable characters fight for power and protect what’s rightfully theirs. The women in the show are spartans; you’d have to have a death wish if you confronted them on any turf!"

The series revolves around four inimitable women: the matriarch Savitri, her daughters-in-law, Bijli and Kajal, and her daughter Shanta, who live in Hastipur, a forgotten village in the north-west. 

Savitri runs a company named Rani Cooperative, which trades in products ranging from jari-booti balms to textiles. But this is just a front for the biggest drug cartel in South Asia.

Dimple Kapadia, who plays Savitri, said about her character, "I’ll admit that Savitri’s family is dysfunctional at best as they draw daggers to be one up on each other. But if anyone from the outside threatens their existence, it could very likely be the last mistake that person makes. I enjoyed the action sequences. While I have done action in some of my films, this was unapologetic and raw. The ferocity and drama will be very engaging for the audience. I suggest you buckle up for this roller coaster."

Produced by Maddock Films (Dinesh Vijan), Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo is directed and created by Homi Adajania. It stars Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, and Isha Talwar in pivotal roles, along with Naseerudin Shah, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal, and Monica Dogra. 

The series will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar starting May 5.
