Saani Kaayidham teaser: Selvaraghavan, Keerthy Suresh set out to seek revenge in this slick thriller

There have been unofficial reports that director Arun Matheswaran's Saani Kaayidham will skip theatrical release and might have a direct release on Amazon Prime Video. The digital platform has now made it official; the much-awaited movie will drop as an OTT release on May 6. Dhanush, with whom Arun is supposed to work for his next, has unveiled the film's teaser as well.

The one-and-a-half minute teaser offers a sneak peek into the project's genre and story. It features Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh craving for revenge after a bunch of people destroy their dreams and life mercilessly.

How the duo set out and execute plans to finish off their enemies forms the rest of the story. According to Arun, the film has a hard-hitting story and its riveting narrative and performances are going to be the highlights. He said, "I like narrating unusual stories in different ways. Saani Kaayidham is a gritty action flick revolving around a woman who is hell-bent on taking revenge on a few people.

Keerthy essays Ponni, a bold woman whose life turns topsy-turvy after she faces a slew of unexpected incidents while Selvaraghavan plays Sangaiah, a fierce and unapologetically violent man. The movie marks his acting debut. Interestingly, his sophomore film as an actor, Beast, was released earlier this month.

Saani Kaayidham, bankrolled by Screen Scene Media Entertainment, is director Arun's second film after Rocky which released in theatres in December. The movie will be released on OTT in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Sam CS has composed music for the film which was wrapped up last year. The project's first look was revealed in 2020; it's said to be based on a few real incidents. According to sources, the story of the crime drama is set in the 1980s.
