Rwitobroto Mukherjee started a new phase in his career. He worked as a playback singer in Subrata Sen's Prajapati, based on Samaresh Basu's novel. One song from the film is Dim Pauruti, whose glimpse recently got released.

Subrata Dutta, Mumtazj Sarkar, Sritama Dey, and others play different roles in the movie. The film also features Rwitobroto. The film shows a butterfly as a metaphor. Rwitobroto said, “I have been getting offers for playback singing since I started singing with a guitar. But I turned those down because I did not have formal training. But I regularly sing in the theatre. Subrata da called me and said, ‘Everyone is saying that you sing. Is it true?’ Then I got the offer for this film.”

About his role, Rwitobroto said, “I play the role of a young ruffian. He works as a mercenary for different political parties. We got a good response when the film was shown at the KIFF.”

Subrata Sen previously made other films based on Samaresh Basu's books. The writer was charged with obscenity when the novel was published in 1967. But the director thinks that now the audience will accept the film since our mentality has changed a lot.

The shooting has been done in Purulia. There are four songs. Arab Choudhury, of the fame Tumpa Sona, sang in the film. Subrata Sen said, “I made the film to attract the audience to the cinema, halls. No one goes to the halls anymore. Once the novel was banned, but my film will not.”'
