Recently, the promoters of Brand's live theatre show also had to cancel the show following the allegations
Russell Brand, a well-known actor and comedian, has hit a roadblock in his current projects due to the recent allegations surfaced against him. The publisher Blue Bird, with whom Brand had a book deal, has paused the agreement due to recent sexual allegations against the actor. The representative of the publishing house said to The Wrap that they have decided to put a hold on all publishing with Brand as the charges against the author are grave. As a result, the release of Recovery: A Workbook, a Practical Guide to finding Freedom from Our Addictions, a book authored by Brand, has been put on hold. The book is the next part of the Recovery: Freedom from Our Addictions, released in 2017. The new book, which chronicles Brand's journey towards sobriety from drugs and alcohol, was scheduled to be released next year, but its future is now uncertain.
Brand's first book was Booky Wook, published by Hodder and Stoughton. When asked about further working with Brand, the representative told The Guardian that they have no further plans to work with him. Brand also authored a book titled Revolution, published by Arrow, which is still listed on Penguin's website. Brand's live performance at the Theatre Royal Windsor has also been cancelled. The promotors cancelled the actor's Bipolarisation show and said that they are forced to call of the addiction charity fundraiser show in the light of the allegations.
According to a collaborative investigation by the Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4, 4 women have alleged Brand of sexually assaulting and raping them between 2006 and 2013. The Sunday Times reports that one of the four was a 16-year-old girl, and when she informed Brand's talent agency about it, his attorney responded angrily to her.
Media companies who employed Brand earlier are also conducting an internal inquiry into the allegations. BBC spokesmen said that Brand worked for them between 2006 and 2008, during which this alleged sexual exploitation is said to have taken place.
