Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter Esha Verma penned a controversial note against the actress in 2020. Esha, daughter of Ashwin Verma from his previous marriage, had called the Anupamaa actress a 'cruel-hearted' woman. Recently, as Esha's old social media post resurfaced online, Ashwin (Rupali's husband) had to share a clarification note on X (formerly). Now, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Esha has opened up about the matter and her relationship with Rupali.

Four years after the post was shared, Esha Verma still stands by her statement. Ashwin's daughter told the news publication that she has seen her post resurface and go viral on social media. The 26-year-old is glad that the social media post is 'being brought to light'. However, her equation with her father's current wife Rupali hasn't changed for good.

"Not really, there’s no relationship between the two of us. She’s just the mother of my brother, and that’s about it," said Esha, who lives in New Jersey. In the same conversation, Esha also defended sharing a picture with Ashwin and Rupali months after her shocking post against the Anupamaa actress.

"I posted the picture to showcase that I am related to both of them, since neither my father nor Rupali chose to acknowledge me as family, personally nor publicly. Going to meet my dad once after 5 years was a blessing but also the bare minimum, as people are very lucky in this world to have both their parents," she added.

What did Esha Verma say about Rupali Ganguly in 2020?

For the uninitiated, Esha claimed that Rupali had an affair with her father Ashwin Verma for 12 years while he was in his second marriage. "Ashwin has two daughters from his previous marriages. She is nothing but a cruel-hearted woman who has done nothing but tried to separate me and my sister, his own daughters from their father," claimed Esha.

Meanwhile, Rupali has been married to Ashwin for a decade now. They are blessed with an 11-year-old son Rudransh.
