The upcoming film marks Devgn’s third directorial venture and also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh
Runway 34 will see Ajay Devgn back in uniform yet again, but this time, he’d be essaying the role of a fearless pilot. The star seems to be going all out in promoting the upcoming aviation thriller, directed by him. Ajay recently collaborated with social media star and musician, Yash Raj Mukhate for a lively track for the film.
In a video posted by Yash, Ajay is seen asking the musician to make a ‘nice’ track for Runway 34. The former suggests that the track should start with a dialogue, an idea that Ajay is opposed to, saying that the film is a thriller. Eventually, Yash gets his way as the track opens with an announcement from Ajay in character as Captain Vikrant Khanna. Yash provides most of the vocals for the track, and Ajay is seen channeling his inner rapper, his baritone in full display.
In the post’s caption, Yash expressed his elation at the fact that Ajay’s first rap section came in a song that he has crafted.

In a recent interview with IANS, Ajay had talked about the ‘huge responsibility’ he felt while essaying the role of a pilot, saying he did not take ‘the uniform lightly’. The actor also revealed that he and his co-star Rakul Preet Singh were trained for the role by a real pilot and got lessons from the ATC (air traffic control) too. Moreover, they were trained for the same in an actual cockpit of a plane.
In addition to Devgn and Rakul Preet, the upcoming film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Aakanksha Singh, Boman Irani, and Youtube personality, Carry Minati in pivotal roles. The film, inspired by true events, marks Ajay’s third directorial venture after U Me Aur Hum (2008) and Shivaay (2016). In addition to starring and directing, Ajay is also a producer of the film.
Runway 34 will hit theatres on April 29, 2022.
