Runway 34 Box Office collection day 2: Ajay Devgn-Amitabh Bachchan's film has a slow start

The aviation thriller also stars Rakul Preet Singh in a lead role.

Ajay Devgn starrer, produced and directed aviation thriller film has been gathering immense applause from around the country. Runway 34, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh, earned Rs. 3 crores only on its opening day. Meanwhile, on the second day, the movie managed to collect Rs 4.5 crores, which is a little more than the first day.

Runway 34 marks the worst box office collection of Ajay starrer after his 2010 film Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge. Meanwhile, the movie is also competing with the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2, which stars Kannada star Yash, Srinidhi Shetyy, Sanjay Dutt, Ravina Tandon and Prakash Raj.

The movie witnessed a growth in its Box Office collection on Saturday and is likely to witness an increment from Sunday since it's a film worthy to be watched in theatres, and unlike Heropanti, Runway 34 has not received backlash from the audience and has been received well by the Indian critics too.

Post the film's release legendary Amitabh Bachchan wrote and heartfelt note to Ajay and mentioned that it was an honour for him to be a part of his film. Ajay took the note and shared it on Instagram with an emotional caption that reads, "When the illustrious and magnanimous Amitabh Bachchan stars in your directorial venture, it is an honour that is hard to encapsulate in words. And when he uses his heartfelt words in a hand-written note of appreciation it stirs emotions that are a heady mix of gratitude, quiet pride and satisfaction. Thank you Amit ji! (sic)."

Written by Sandeep Kewlani and Aamil Keeyan Khan, the aviation drama movie also has Angira Dhar, Boman Irani and Aakanksha Singh in supporting roles.
