Rukmini Maitra to play Binodini Dasi in Ramkamal Mukherjee’s Binodini – Ektu Natir Upakhhyan

It has been widely reported that Rukmini Maitra will be seen as Binodini Dasi in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s Binodini – Ektu Natir Upakhhyan. The film, produced by Dev’s house, was announced in 2022. After a series of experiments over the look, costume, and sets, the shooting was completed in 2023. However, there was no intimation of the release date.

However, fresh reports suggested that the film will be released soon this year. According to a report by TollyBangla Box-Office, the film will be dropped after the upcoming Loksabha election. The report further suggested that the postproduction works are almost in the last leg. If it has to be believed, Rukmini Maitra’s magnum opus will be released in May or June this year.

Rukmini went through change to portray the character. She started her training under Sudipta Chakraborty. Besides, she also took training in dance. Earlier, she said that she took Kathak training from Shouvik Chakraborty, a disciple of Pt Birju Maharaj. Besides, she also took training in classical dance from Danseuse Manisha Basu. She wore only saris throughout that period.

In fact, Rukmini revealed that her training was so strict that she wounded her feet. Ram Kamal recreated that period and according to the team, many materials were sourced from abroad.
