Dev was busy with the shooting of his film Pradhan. He came to Kolkata from North Bengal and then went to Delhi. Rukmini Maitra, on the other hand, is suffering from a fever. She was even unable to leave the house. Speculations started to spread when the news came out. Did the actress have Dengue?
Dengue cases are constantly rising in Kolkata. A few days back, actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay’s cousin died of Dengue within just a couple of days of fever. That broke the hearts of his fans. Hence, Rukmini's illness made her friends worry. She was too ill to go to her close friend Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s birthday party. Hints of her having Dengue were made in many places. Now, Rukmini opened her mouth on the issue.

Rukmini’s Instagram story shows that she is not pleased with false news. She wrote on her Instagram story, “Hi! This is to let everyone know that I DID NOT have Dengue, but I was down with a terrible viral from which I am still recovering. I'm much better now. Thank you for all the incessant love, care, and concern.”

Rukmini has played Satyabati in Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo. Her character garnered mixed reviews from the audience. She has a number of projects in her bag. Ram Kamal’s Binodini’s work has finished and his Draupadi’s shoot will soon start. In a recent social media announcement, Srijit Mukherji hinted at working with her and Dev in his forthcoming film. The film’s work will start in 2024.
