The actress enjoys the sweets at the set of Dance Dance Junior
As the Durga Puja celebration comes to an end, the Bijoya celebration begins. The Bijaya Sammilani of Durga Puja is traditionally done by distributing sweets among loved ones. Bengali sweets are important items in Bijaya, and even Tollywood celebrities follow the custom with care. In fact, Rukmini Maitra was just seen eating rosogollas on the stage of Dance Dance Junior.
Rukmini roamed around the young competitors and judges with a clay pot full of rosogollas and offered everyone along with Bijaya’s wish. She also ate three sweets in the course. The actress is not very strict about her diet, and now she is more relaxed because of the festive season. Monami and Dev avoided the sweet, but Rukmini happily devoured them.
Rukmini is all set to play legendary theatre actress Binodini Dasi – aka Noti Binodini – in Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s next, Binodiini – Ekti Natir Upakhyan. The first look of the film was revealed in September. The actress said that playing Binodini Dasi is a dream-come-true moment for her. “For any actress, playing Notee Binodini is an honour. I remember around three years ago when Ram told me that he was going to make a biopic of Nati Binodini. I was very happy for him. One day he called me from Mumbai and told me that he wanted to cast me for the character. Initially, I did not believe it. I was surprised. But then the lockdown came and everything stopped due to the pandemic. Finally, the journey has begun. We received a lot of love for the character look and the poster that was launched,” the actress told us.
Right now Rukmini is in Greece, vacationing with Dev.
