Rudrangi stars Jagapathi Babu, Vimala Raman, and Mamta Mohan Das in key roles
Jagapathi Babu is known to play diverse roles in his career. Durin the begining of his career, he was known as a family hero but with Balakrishna's Legend, the star hero turned villain and since then, there has been no looking back for him. He is seen in almost all the big-budget films these days and is now headlining a film titled Rudrangi.
The period drama is all set for a release on July 7, 2023, and Ajay Samrat has directed it. Speaking about the film, Jagapathi Babu says that Rudrangi was a very hard film to execute and he had a lot of reservations about doing the film. But as the director kept convincing him for over a year to take on the challenge, he went ahead and did it says the star hero.
Adding further, Jagapathi Babu also says that Rudrangi is among the ten best films of his career and his performance will be remembered for a long time to come. He will be seen as a Zamindar with multiple partners in this film and his character is designed in a loud manner and has a separate lingo to it.
The promo showcases Jagapathi Babu in a central role and is set in the pre-Independence era. Vimala Raman and Mamtha Mohon Das play Jagapathi Babu's wives in the film. The teaser showcases Mamta Mohandas, who gets married to Jagapathi Babu, teaming up with a rebellious local in a village to overthrow the zamindar and ensure justice. The tension between Jagapathi Babu and his two wives forms the crux of the story.
The costumes and production design are going to be one of the highlights of the film say the makers. Kalakeya Prabhakar plays one of the main villains in this film. Jagapathi Babu has revealed in many of his interviews that the film has been in the making for a long time but the final output is wonderful and the audience will love the period drama.
Divya, Ashish Gandhi, Ganavi Laxman, Sadhanandham, Charishma Sreekar, Prabhakar Kalakeya, and RS Nanda, among others in key roles. Nandamuri Balakrishna graced the pre-release event of the film and praised Jagapathi Babu for attempting such a brave film at this stage of his career.
