Rudra: The Edge of Darkness: Raashii Khanna shares her family’s reaction on seeing her in Ajay Devgn’s series

In the series, which also features Esha Doel, Atul Kulkarni and Ashwini Kalsekar, Khanna plays a sociopath who befriends Rudra

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness saw Raashii Khanna essay quite an intense and unorthodox character in her OTT debut. The actress portrayed the role of Aliyah Choksi, a brilliant sociopath, and she recently revealed how her family reacted to seeing her in the thriller series.

The actress talked about how portraying her character in Rudra was something that was way out of her comfort zone and she was always on the lookout for projects, which did that. She had done her best to nail her character and had come aboard the series. So her only goal was to do justice to the role as well as she could.

She told IANS that her family and friends were ‘shocked’ to see her in the role, but in a good way. Khanna said that they might have never expected that she would be able to pull off a character like that, adding that they were happy and proud of her performance in the show. The actress said that she herself had not expected to pull off the role either.

Earlier, in a conversation with The Indian Express, Khanna had talked about how her performance in Rudra was different from anything else she had done before , and was scared of the prospect of actually becoming like Aliyah. The actress also said that she ‘scared’ her co-star Esha Doel as well when they were filming a scene together.

In addition to Khanna, the series stars Ajay Devgn in the titular role. Rajesh Mapuskar has directed the series.
