SS Rajamouli had broken his own film Baahubali: The Conclusion's record on the first day Box Office of RRR.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR has neared Rs. 500 crore mark gross. The movie, featuring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, has, according to a report on LiveMint, earned Rs. 456 crores (USD 60 million) at the Box Office over the weekend. With that, it has beaten Batman’s opening weekend. It is now inching towards Rs. 750 crore mark at the worldwide Box Office.
RRR had opened to Rs. 223 crores gross. The movie had beaten SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conlusion’s first day Box Office gross collection with that record.
Now the film has beaten Robert Pattinson’s Batman record. Batman had opened to Rs. 346 crores (USD 45.5 million) over its first weekend. The movie is going on making new records at the Box Office and RRR promises the same wave in India.
Out of Rs. 456 crores gross, RRR’s Hindi version itself, according to Box Office India, has collected Rs. 74.50 crores net. The movie has released in other languages like Telugu (the original film), Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada too.
RRR has managed to make and break records despite the pandemic situation at play. It is the first film to have beaten so many records within the first three days of its release. It is also probably the first time that Rajamouli surpassed his own movie’s Box Office record.
The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR is also called Roudram Ranam Rudhiram in Telugu, Raththam Ranam Rowthiram in Tamil, Rudhiram Ranam Roudhram in Malayalam and Roudra Rana Rudhira in Kannada. The Hindi version (if not the Hindi translation) is called Rise, Roar and Revolt. Another reason that Rajamouli revealed for the name RRR is because of the trio – Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Rama Rao (Jr. NTR).
The story of this film is based on two uncredited freedom fighters named Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju. The two brave men fought against the British as well as the Nizam of Hyderabad.
