RRR does it again! S.S. Rajamouli's becomes ONLY FILM to trend globally on Netflix for 14 consecutive weeks

This comes as an all-time record as no other film to date as no other movie in the English or Non-English category has managed to trend for 14 weeks or more in the top 10 list of the streaming giant!

The RRR mania refuses to die down as the film achieves yet another glorious milestone. Not only did the S.S. Rajamouli film break the box office lull during its theatrical run in India but it also became a massive cultural phenomenon worldwide. So much so that it caught the attention of several reputed Hollywood personalities and is currently looking like a hot favourite as a bona fide contender for the Oscars.

In this vein, RRR has owned yet another incredible feat to its name by trending in Netflix's Top 10 list for 14 consecutive weeks! This comes as an all-time record as no other film to date (barring the British-German action-horror film Blood Red Sky) as no other movie in the English or Non-English category has managed to trend for 14 weeks or more in the top 10 list of the streaming giant! The film premiered on Netflix on May 20, 2022, and attained the #1 spot by the second week of its digital release to sustain the position for the next three consecutive weeks. RRR has been viewed for more than 70 million hours on the platform.

The makers of the film took to social media recently to proudly announce this milestone. "Delighted to say that, in English & Non-English categories, #RRRMovie is the ONLY FILM to trend GLOBALLY on @NETFLIX for 14 consecutive weeks. 🔥🌊," read the tweet by the official RRR Movie handle.

Written and Directed by S.S. Rajamouli (based on the story penned by his father V. Vijayendra Prasad), RRR is a fictional take on the lives of the real-life revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film released in theatres worldwide on March 25, 2022, and went to become a massive critical and commercial success: RRR has collected close to Rs. 1150 crores at the global box office. Thanks to tremendous word-of-mouth publicity and the eventual Netflix release that the film would be celebrated overseas with equal gusto. RRR stars Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt.
