Singer Karthik is at his mellifluous best in the latest track from Rowdy Boys, which has lyrics by Shree Mani and Anantha Sriram
Nuvve Na Dhairyam in Rowdy Boys
If there's one film industry in India that consistently respects and understands the significance of music in the visual medium, it is Telugu cinema. The popularity of music and its impact in driving crowds to theatres in Telugu land almost remains unmatched. In times when the number of songs in films are reducing by the day across multiple industries, be surprised to hear that there'll be 9 songs in this week's Sankranthi release, Rowdy Boys, starring Ashish and Anupama Parameswaran. The film, directed by Sree Harsha Konuganti, has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
The sixth song from the film, Nuvve Na Dhairyam, was launched today. Singer, composer Karthik has crooned for the number and is gradually inching his way back in Telugu cinema after a lull. As the song name says, the male lead is in the middle of a music concert opening up about the strength and resilience that his soulmate has given to him through his thick and thin. There's an element of melancholy in the rendition too, where the guy is nostalgic about the good times he had spent with the love of his life.
It's very rare that two lyricists collaborate on the same number in a film and the association of Shri Mani and Anantha Sriram works quite well for Nuvve Na Dhairyam. The opening lines, Nenento Naake Telipi..Nanu Nadipina Veluge Nuvve..Naa Kala Oka Nijamuga Chusina Snehame Nuvve.. are a good hint of the emotional depth in the number that haunts you long after you listen to it. Nuvve Na Dhairyam is a visual treat as well, set amid a huge open auditorium where the audience is grooving to the composition.
Earlier in the day, a song based on friendship, named Ye Zindagi, was launched by Radhe Shyam actor Prabhas. Another song from the film is set to be released by Ram Charan later in the day. Rowdy Boys, produced by Dil Raju and Shirish, is hitting theatres on January 14.
