Roshan Mathew thought it was some kind of a joke when he was asked to play Ibrahim in Kuruthi

Kuruthi was released across the world on Amazon Prime Video on August 11 and was open to rave reviews. Roshan Mathew, who played Ibrahim in the movie took to social media to talk about how he landed the role, which surprised many.

Sharing some working stills from the sets of the action thriller on Instagram, Roshan wrote: “Prithviraj Sukumaran gave me my first narration of Kuruthi while Supriya Menon sat opposite me, keenly watching. I’d naturally assumed that Prithvi would play Ibrahim, so I was wondering which character he had called me for.” Roshan also wrote that he initially thought it was a joke when Prithvi said they would like him to play Ibrahim after the narration of the script. The home invasion action thriller was a well developed, gritty and engaging movie that also received a lot of praise from members of the film industry. The film was especially appreciated for its casting. With 10 major roles in the movie, each actor seemed perfect for the role and each role looked as important as the other.

While it may have come as a surprise when Prithviraj Sukumaran played the role of Laik, a man seeking vengeance and Roshan playing Ibrahim, who vowed to protect a prisoner seeking refuge at his place along with a police officer. But it is safe to say that decisions made by Prithviraj and Supriya Menon, who produced the movie, were right.

Bankrolled under the banner of Prithviraj Productions, the movie is directed by Manu Warrier, who has previously also worked in Bollywood. The music for the movie is composed by Jakes Bejoy and Abinandhan Ramanujam is the cinematographer.

Along with Roshan and Prithviraj, the movie also features Srinda, Mamukkoya,Murali Gopi, Shine Tom Chacko, Naslen Gafoor, Manikandan Achari, Sagar Surya and Navas Vallikunnu.
