The number marks the singing debut of director Shankar's daughter, actress Aditi Shankar, who is foraying into cinema with Karthi's Viruman
Ghani, the much awaited boxing drama starring Varun Tej, Saiee Manjrekar in the lead, is gearing up for a theatrical release in a few weeks. Produced by Allu Bobby and Siddu Mudda, Ghani marks the directorial debut of Kiran Korrapati. The film's star-studded lineup comprises several big names like Upendra, Jagapathi Babu, Suniel Shetty, Naveen Chandra, Naresh, Nadhiya among others. S Thaman has scored the music of the drama whose title track and the dance number Kodthe (featuring Tamannaah) have captured the imagination of music lovers.
The third song from the film, Romeo Juliet, a peppy romance number, was launched amidst a lot of fanfare at KL University, Guntur in the presence of the cast, crew, composer and the students of the college. The major highlight of the song is its singer - Aditi Shankar, none other than the daughter of star director Shankar, who's also making her acting debut with Karthi's Viruman. The multi-talented actress is a natural with her vocals as well, giving the track its much needed zest and vigour. The lyrical video of the song appears more like an indie-music video interspersed with the visuals from the film featuring Varun Tej, Saiee Manjrekar.
Romeo Juliet's visuals take us through the effort that went behind the making of the video too, also including scenes where director Shankar is watching his daughter shooting for it. Although nothing earth shattering, Romeo Juliet is no doubt an impressive song with a catchy musical hook, is well-shot and warrants multiple hearing. Lyricised by Raghuram, several other singers including Sruthi Ranjani, Harika Narayan, ML Gayatri, Aditi Bhavaraju have lent their voice for the number. George C Williams ISC has cranked the camera for Ghani, a film that's edited by Marthand K Venkatesh.
