Rohman Shawl, the ex-boyfriend of Sushmita Sen, is preparing to mark his film debut.
Although he initially had little interest in the industry, Rohman Shawl has signed on to his debut movie as an actor. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Rohman discussed how his romance with Sushmita Sen contributed significantly to his fame. He also discussed how he stopped receiving modelling offers and started getting approached for movies instead. After being abruptly removed on a big-budget film, he felt defeated. Rohman will nevertheless make his acting debut in a movie directed by Akhil Abrol. Rohman will portray a Kashmiri role in the film. Due to the fact that he was raised mostly in Nainital, he claimed that this also provided him the chance to rediscover his origins.
He said in the interview, “After I got famous, modelling jobs started decreasing and acting jobs started coming my way. I did not want to act, so I kept saying no. The modelling offers did not have enough budget; that’s when I saw a shift within me. I realised I have to change with time. I saw the opportunities coming my way, and that’s why I started looking at acting, and the scripts I could really connect with. As an actor I have to learn a lot, but the only thing I have is that I can be natural in front of the camera.”
Rohman stated that he'd like to embark on a romantic comedy because he feels that is his favoured category. In spite of being offered a number of reality series, especially Kangana Ranaut's Lock Up, he reportedly rejected the idea of participating in any.

He went on to say, “I want to give my acting career a chance first. If this doesn’t happen, then I will go to reality shows. I have nothing against reality shows, but right now I am not really looking into it. Acting nahi chali phir mein reality shows ke bare mein sochunga (if acting does not work out, then I will think about reality shows).”
Meanwhile, online dating led to the beginning of Rohman and Sushmita's relationship. In a message on social media last year, she revealed that the couple had split up. She has remained close to Rohman despite being associated with tycoon Lalit Modi since then.
