Rohit Shetty to join hands with Sidharth Malhotra for his maiden web series?

Rohit Shetty, easily one of the most bankable filmmakers of Hindi cinema in terms of box office success, has set fans eagerly waiting for his latest cop biggie Sooryavanshi. The film that will hit the big screen this Diwali is anticipated to rake in the moolahs.

Now, the media reports suggest that the Golmaal director will soon bring his maiden web series too. Pinkvilla reports that Shershaah star Sidharth Malhotra will star in the cop series. The series will premiere on the popular streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.

Rohit Shetty will back the series as a producer and the showrunner, working on the scripting and the action scenes. Debutant director Sushwanth Prakash will direct the series. As per Pinkvilla, a probable collaboration between Sidharth Malhotra and Rohit Shetty has been in the talks and things have worked out with this web series. It is being touted that the cop series will have a distinct ‘tone and treatment’ than the usual titles of the same genre in the digital space. Vicky Kaushal and Tiger Shroff were in the running as the protagonist of the yet untitled show.

On the work front, Sidharth has an aerial action thriller under the banner of Dharma Productions coming up. Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre have directed the film which is still in works. There’s also Ronnie Screwvala’s Mission Majnu and Indra Kumar’s Thank God in the lineup.

Rohit Shetty’s comic caper Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, is slated to release in 2022. The film is eyeing a global theatrical release. Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham franchise, too, is all set to get going with the third installment, Singham 3. More recently, Rohit also confirmed bringing Salman Khan to his cop universe. On Bigg Boss 15 Weekend Ka Vaar, Rohit and Salman promised that the actor's Chulbul Pandey will be meeting Ajay Devgn's Singham in one of the upcoming films.
