Rohit Shetty is a busy man indeed at the moment. After delivering yet another blazing instalment in his Cop film Universe with Sooryavanshi last year, the director is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Cirkus. The director recently opened up about the film and what audiences can expect from the same.
In conversation with PTI, the director opened up about his film’s connection to the Shakespearean play, The Comedy of Errors. Shetty talked about how there were several versions of the play in cinema. He gave the examples of a black and white film based on the play in Bengali cinema, as well as Kishore Kumar’s Do Dooni Chaar. Talking about how the adaptations of the play have changed over the years, Shetty said that his film would offer a ‘different take’. “It is a happy, cool and breezy film, much on the lines of Golmaal and All The Best”, he said.
The upcoming film will see Ranveer Singh take on a dual role, along with Varun Sharma. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee in pivotal roles. Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn are also expected to make cameo appearances in the film, which is bankrolled by T-Series.
Meanwhile, Shetty is currently fulfilling his hosting duties on the latest season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. The filmmaker is currently filming for the adventure reality show in Cape Town, South Africa.
