Rohan Sen’s Aparajita: Ghawre Baire Aaj actress Tuhina Das gets emotional post film wrap

Bengali actress Tuhina Das feels a bit sad and wistful after wrapping up the shooting for her upcoming film Rohit Sen's Aparajita. The film is a father-daughter story.

Bengali actress Tuhina Das, who was last seen in the Aparna Sen directorial Ghawre Bairey Aaj, has recently begun shooting for Rohan Sen’s Aparajita.

The actor couldn’t be more excited for her part in the film. All the same, she’s also a bit sad and wistful, now that the film has wrapped up.

The actress opened up about the movie to Entertainment Times. She said that she will miss the fun and excitement on the sets while working on the film. The actress added that the shooting experience of a film ‘has its own charm’, like watching it on the big screen. “I shot for many OTT projects in between but shooting for a film gives you a different kind of satisfaction,” she said.

Tuhina, who is known for Damayanti, Sin Sister, and BreakUp Story, revealed that Aparajita is a father-daughter story. She plays the titular character Aparajita who is a daughter. Shantilal Mukherjee plays her father. The film marks their first collaboration as actors. In the film, Aparajita communicates with her father through the written word, writing notes in a diary. The chasm and unresolved feelings following her mother’s death have silenced verbal communication between Aparajita and her father. The film explores the cracks and crevices of their relationship that stems from Aparajita blaming her father for her mother’s death.

Tuhina filled in on further details about her character. She said that Aparajita is ‘independent and responsible towards her family’ while also being mentally dependent on her father despite the complexities in their relationship. One can only wait to watch the film to find out the interplay of different dynamics of her equations with the people in her life and the nuances of the generation gap and emotional distancing. Her US-based sister, played by Amrita Dey, is her confidante. Aparajita vents out to her, sharing the joyful and sorrowful moments of her life. She also shares a bond with Saheb, played by Debtanu, who works in her office. Saheb and her sister try to cement the cracks in Aparajita’s bond with her father but in vain. Rana Basu Thakur plays their family doctor.

Tuhina made her debut with the 2018 film Asche Abar Shabor.More details on Aparajita are awaited.
