Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of former ISRO scientist, Nambi Narayanan.
R. Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect seems to be finding its way into the hearts of the fans, with it seeing a steady growth in box office numbers following its first day. Actor Gauthami Nair, who made small ripples following her first two Malayalam movies, is the latest from the industry to heap praise for the biopic.
“Yesterday evening I went to the theatre to watch a film that a couple of people I personally know have worked on - As a way to show my support and love to their art and years of turmoil. Little did I know I would be so emotionally shaken towards the end,” Gauthami wrote in an Instagram post, sharing a number of photos related to the movie.
She added that the story that the makers have tried to show is something that we have to see as Indians and moreover, as humans. She also wrote more about Nambi Narayanan, heaping praise to his achievements and what he had to later suffer in his life.
The actor ended the note by urging people to watch the movie in theatres and congratulating the team for a “big win”.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which marks Madhavan’s debut as a director, is also written by him. Starring as Nambi Narayanan, the movie tracks the former ISRO scientist’s life in his early days at Princeton to the hardships that he had to suffer later in his life.
Also starring Simran, Rajit Kapur, Ravi Raghavendra, Misha Ghoshal, Karthik Kumar, Gulshan Grover and others in important roles, the movie was simultaneously made in Tamil, Hindi and English. With cameos from Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya, the movie is now available in theatres around the country.
