Roaring Star Sriimurali to meet-and-greet fans on his birthday, but there’s a condition
The teaser of Bagheera is being launched on the occasion of leading man Sriimurali's birthday

Kannada cinema’s Roaring Star Sriimurali has not celebrated his birthday with his fans for a while. There was the pandemic, then the pain of losing his cousin Puneeth Rajkumar, his injury that kept him out of action for a while and, more recently the loss of his sister-in-law Spandana (brother Vijay Raghavendra’s wife). But then, in showbiz, the show must go on and Sriimurali, whose last release was 2021’s lacklustre Madhagaja, is looking to get back in the game in a big way. He’s got a film lined up for release, Bagheera, the teaser of which is being released tomorrow, December 17 at 9.45 am, on the occasion of his birthday.

The teaser launch will be followed by a meet-and-greet event for fans. Taking to social media with a video message for fans, Sriimurali said, “I am who I am because of my fans and I am set to meet you all at the Devaraj Urs Bhavan on Millers Road in Vasanth Nagar from 10.30 am onward. Whoever wants to meet me and join in the celebration, please do come. I have a humble request, though. Please do not bring garlands, bouquets, or other gifts; do not spend your hard-earned money on me. If you still feel the need to do something for my birthday, I would love it if you do something that helps another human being, like, for instance, at an orphanage, or any other social cause donation. Meet me empty-handed; I am waiting.”

Bagheera is Sriimurali’s first project with Hombale Films. The film is directed by Dr Suri and pairs him with Rukmini Vasanth and is based on a script by KGF and Salaar maker Prashant Neel. Prashant, whose Ugramm gave Sriimurali’s career a definitive boost, was supposed to collaborate with the actor again, but his busy schedule with KGF and then Salaar and next #NTR31 prevents him from doing so. As such, he entrusted the script to Dr Suri. Going by the colour palette of the posters that have been released so far, it seems that Dr Suri is doing a good job at replicating Prashant’s filmmaking style.
