RJ Balaji's recent outing Veetla Vishesham has been running to packed houses and the film has been receiving some overwhelming love from the family audience. The success meet of the film was was held recently and while speaking on the occasion, Balaji revealed that he was confident that the film would become one of the most profitable ones of the year. Veetla Vishesham, produced by Boney Kapoor, is helmed by Balaji along with NJ Saravanan, with whom he had collaborated for his earlier venture, Mookuthi Amman, which had Nayanthara playing the titular character.

During the success meet, Balaji also revealed an interesting piece of information that he had narrated a story to none other than Thalapathy Vijay, earlier this year. While Vijay had expected a fun project like Balaji's films, the story that he had narrated to Vijay was on a grand scale, which required a substantial amount of time. Hence, it didn't materialise. The actor jestfully stated that he was hopeful of Thalapathy77 / Thalapathy87, some time in the future.

Veetla Vishesham is a remake of Amit Ravindernath Sharma's Badhaai Ho, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajaraj Rao and the late Surekha Sikhri. The Tamil version has RJ Balaji, Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, Sathyaraj and the late KPAC Lalitha. The plot revolves around a middle-aged couple who get pregnant, much to the embarrassment of their grown-up children.

Balaji has been aggressively promoting the film travelling across the state and by dropping promotional videos on a regular basis on social media. The effort seems to have paid off for the actor. Recently, Sathyaraj had dropped a video in which he stated that the film was screened in the US and that the audience there thoroughly enjoyed watching the film. The original film, Badhaai Ho had bagged two National Awards and it also had a spiritual successor in Badhaai Do, which released earlier this year starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.
