The Paromitar Ek Din actor told TOI that it was a “great experience” for her to collaborate with a “down-to-earth” person like Banerjee, while also praising his knowledge and experience. “There are a lot of emotions attached to it,” she told TOI, about the shooting experience, while also mentioning Prabhat Roy’s Lathi as another film for which they have teamed up.

Akorik delves into alienation, a pervasive element of our lives in today’s day and age. It revolves around the touching bond between an elderly person from a joint family, as he makes friends with a kid raised by a single mother.

The Dahan actor also revealed that she is playing the single mother to a nine-year-old in the film, adding that the subject of the film is “nice and relatable”. “ I was moved when Tathagata shared the script,” she was quoted as saying. Describing the film as an emotional journey, the National Award-winning actress said that the narrative follows the young boy, as he strikes a bond with an elderly couple, whom he perceives to be like his grandparents, and how that relationship unfolds.
