Rituparna Sengupta and Saswata Chatterjee’s movie The Parcel premiered on the Bengali streaming app Hoichoi on June 11. The film which has won Awards at various film festivals released in 2020 and was lauded by the critics and audiences alike.

The psychological thriller, which also has elements of mystery, revolves around an anonymous parcel. A psychiatrist Nandini (Rituparna) receives ‘the parcel’ at her home and that changes her life altogether. She spills details about her life which Nandini might have never in other circumstances. These details affect her family life to a great extent. But how much will it affect her own life? While Nandini believes that a psycho is targeting her, is that really the case?

Directed by Indrasis Acharya, the film is produced by Rituparna herself, in collaboration with Krishna Kyal. Indrasis was especially lauded for the film, even at the Kolkata International Film Festival, where he won the best director award.

The Parcel stars Saswata in the role of Nandini’s husband Souvik. Anindya Chatterjee, on the other hand, played the role of their daughter.

Apart from Rituparna, Saswata and Anindya, the movie also stars Ambarish Bhattacharya, Sreela Majumdar, Pradip Mukherjee and Daminee Basu in pivotal roles.

The trailer of the film released on February 11, just a month before its theatrical release on March 13, 2020.

Rituparna earned critical acclaim for her last released film The Parcel. Saswata, on the other hand, has been in news for playing Habuchandra Raja in the upcoming Bengali movie Habu Chandra Raheja Gobu Chandra Montri.
