Riteish Deshmukh has two OTT projects lined up for release this week. On one hand, he has Aditya Sapotdar's spooky comedy Kakuda, and on the other, the actor has a web series Pill set for release. Both projects will be released on different streaming platforms. As for Kakuda, the horror comedy film will drop on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium this Friday (July 12). Ahead of its digital premiere, the streamer has shared a new poster of the film, featuring Riteish.

ZEE5 dropped the new poster of Aditya Sarpotdar's film highlighting Kakuda as 'manhunter' and Riteish Deshmukh aka Victor as 'ghost hunter'. In this intense and scary face-off, it remains to be seen who will have the last laugh. While sharing the poster on Instagram, the makers wrote, "Can Victor's angrezi tantra stand against Kakuda? Take no chances, stick to this mantra - Darwaza khula rakho, 7:15 pm, har mangalwar! (sic)."
Apart from Riteish, Kakuda stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aashif Khan, and Saqib Saleem. The film is about the haunted village of Ratodi where every house has two doors: one big and one small. The small door has to be open for Kakuda.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Zoom, Riteish Deshmukh revealed he signed up for Kakuda because he felt the script was interesting. the actor added that it is a horror comedy but not just restricted to scares and laughs. Deshmukh mentioned that Kakuda is a story that has a lot of heart and it is about the relationships between the characters.
The actor further dismissed reports of Kakuda mocking other horror comedies like Stree or any other film in the same genre. On a concluding note, he mentioned, "There is a dialogue in the film "Bhooton se dar nahi lagta insaan se lagta hai". That's not a dig at Dabangg or at Sonakshi’s line, but it's an ode to that film."
