Diganth, who was to act with Rishab in Bachelor Party, confirmed this development during the promotions of Thimayya and Thimayya
If there is one man who has been busy jet-setting and difficult to pin down in recent times, it’s got to be Kannada actor-director Rishab Shetty. The success of his film Kantara has, quite literally, changed his life around. From promoting his film across the country to being invited as chief guest at media conclaves, Rishab is well and truly on an exhilarating roller-coaster ride. As exciting and proud a feeling that is for Kannada cinema lovers, Rishab’s new-found fame comes with its own set of casualties.
The actor-filmmaker, who was announced as one of the three leads in Rakshit Shetty’s next production, Bachelor’s Party, has apparently excused himself from the project, as he is now going to focus on making Kantara 2. This was confirmed by actor Diganth, who is also a part of Bachelor Party. Diganth was promoting his upcoming release Thimayya and Thimayya. “We had announced Bachelor Party, but then Rishab is nowhere to be found these days. We are very proud that he made a film that has got national recognition. He said that he is now going to make Kantara 2, and will be busy with that, so we are looking at replacing him in the film,” said Diganth during an online interview.
Earlier, when Rishab was asked about what he would do next, given that he had announced two other directorials, one called Rudraprayag with Anant Nag and an untitled film with Century Star Shivarajkumar, he had said that the former is on hold as it is also a subject based in a forest. It was thought that he would perhaps head into the making of the film with Shivarajkumar, or finish up his acting commitments, which, at that point were Bachelor Party and Bell Bottom 2. Well, if he is indeed making Kantara 2, then even Bell Bottom 2 will be on hold for now.
