Sandalwood film Kantara has been winning applause from Kannada cinephiles ever since the movie hit the screens on September 30. After a few days, the movie started hitting the headlines when celebs from other film industries heaped praises on the movie.

The project which has been directed by Rishab Shetty, apart from playing the lead role in it, gradually gained attention from movie buffs of other states, too. Its makers then decided to release the film in other languages a\s well. Kantara was released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam languages yesterday.

It was Karthi who unveiled its Tamil trailer a couple of days ago from his Twitter page. Dream Warrior Pictures, who distributed the Tamil dubbed version of KGF: Chapter 2 in Tamil Nadu, acquired the theatrical rights of Kantara in Tamil Nadu. The social media page of the production house posted a video featuring Rishab and Karthi exchanging pleasantries after the former visited Chennai.

The two actors are seen greeting each other with a warm hug, and Karthi congratulated Rishab for the huge success of the movie and for the appreciation it has been receiving from various quarters.

A visibly excited Karthi told Rishab that his brother-in-law went gaga over the film, and that he loved it immensely. Rishab, who seemed to be thrilled with it, said that the core idea behind making the movie was to address the prevailing caste issue in the society. The actor-filmmaker also said that he wanted to highlight the significance of equality through the film.

Dhanush, Prithviraj, Adivi Sesh and Nani are a few other non-Kannada celebs who appreciated Kantara for its making and power-packed performances. Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar and Pramod Shetty among others have played pivotal roles in the project.
