The prominent singer passed away in Kolkata soon after a gig in Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata.
The country was shocked a few hours ago after hearing about the untimely demise of KK, an ace singer who has delivered big hits in a number of languages. As hundreds of celebrities chime in with kind words of remembrance, R. Madhavan has now called the late singer one of the nicest human beings ever.
Talking to Times of India following the singer’s passing, Madhavan said that KK sang the song Sach Keh Raha Hai from Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein with so much soul that the actor had a tough time living up to its demands. Calling it emotional, Madhavan said that half of his expressions in the song came because of the way KK had sung it.
“"I will never forget KK. He has one of the best souls I ever met and he was the nicest human being ever. He always sang with open heart and the irony is that's the only thing that gave up on him. I am heartbroken." said Madhavan.
Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein is a 2001 romantic drama that marked R. Madhavan’s Bollywood debut. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the movie was the remake of the director’s Tamil film, Minnale. KK has also sung the song Na Sone Ke Bangle Mein for the movie. While the movie became a belated hit with the fans, the songs were beloved by the audiences following its release.
The news that shocked the country came hours after the singer performed at Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata, at a college fest. Reports state that KK felt unwell after the performance and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
