Ridhi Dogra reveals why she is making her Bollywood debut with Lakadbaggha

The teaser poster of the action thriller film Lakadbaggha was released on Monday. The film features Anshuman Jha, Milind Soman, and Ridhi Dogra in pivotal roles.

In the upcoming action thriller Lakadbaggha, which also stars Anshuman Jha and Milind Soman as the main characters, Ridhi Dogra will make her long-awaited Bollywood debut.

Set in Kolkata, the story of the film revolves around a young man named Arjun Bakshi, who is an animal lover and is in the process of saving one Indian Striped Hyena, also known as Lakadbaggha. The hyena has been kidnapped from Corbett National Park and is being sold on the black market. The story also talks about how to get more Indian dog breeds to adapt, how to stop the illegal trade of animals, and how to get people and animals to get along better with each other.

As Ridhi is playing a pivotal part in the film, asked about what made her take up this film as her Bollywood debut, the actress said, "This film is special at many levels. At the heart of it is the story. This film dwells on the plight of animals and their welfare. That instantly made me want to do it as my Bollywood debut."

Even though she cannot share more insight into the character that she is playing in the film, Ridhi said that it was exciting for her to do action as well.

She said that, considering the fact that she has already tried playing various characters in her stint on TV and web shows, she was waiting for something completely different from everything she has done in the past, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with a great team.

"I have always chosen my projects based on the team. Anshuman's choice and his passion for animals and the stellar international team at work, I wanted to be a part of the story from the very first reading," said the actress, who is known for delivering some memorable performances in web series like Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side and The Married Woman.

She talked about working with Anshuman Jha, who is playing the male protagonist in the film, and said, "Anshuman is just so clear and incredibly planned in how he wanted to take the process of the film. His precision and clarity are a joy as an actor for me and rub off on the team."

The film Lakadbaggha, written by Alok Sharma and directed by Victor Mukherjee, also features Paresh Pahuja, and is all set to be released in the winter. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film.
