The film deals with protection of Indie dogs and the animals at large
The Ridhi Dogra and Anshuman Jha starrer film ‘Lakadbaggha- 1’ becomes the only action film to be selected at the prestigious 20th Stuttgart Film Festival, Germany. The film ‘Lakadbaggha- 1’ also happens to be the world' s first animal lover vigilante universe. Besides ‘Lakadbaggha- 1’, the said festival will also be showcasing the Oscar Nominated Indian documentary ‘All That Breathes’ by Shaunak Sen amongst the other films which will be screened.
Speaking about the prestigious honour, Anshuman Jha said in a media statement, "We (Ridhi and him) are excited and grateful that our love letter to dogs is breaking the language barrier & will reach an audience in Germany. Animal trafficking & cruelty is a grave environmental issue & I am happy that the festival is giving a voice to the voiceless. This is a shot in the arm as we prep for a bigger second part. We are thankful to the selection committee at Stuttgart & stoked to be there for our European Premiere." Both, Anshuman Jha and Ridhi Dogra are scheduled to travel to Germany to attend the prestigious festival.
As for the film, ‘Lakadbaggha-1” (which means a hyena), is an action film which has been set in Kolkata. The film’s premise deals about the protection of the Indie dogs and also the animals at large. Because of the film’s action premise, Anshuman Jha had got trained in ‘Krav-Maga’ with Tsahi Shemesh (who has previously trained the ‘Avengers’ cast) in New York. Besides Ridhi Dogra and Anshuman Jha, the film also stars Milind Soman. The film will be having its OTT release on Zee 5, which was announced by the makers on Jun 5 this year, which also happened to be ‘World Environment Day’.
On a personal front, actor Anshuman Jha, after having a traditional wedding in October last year, got remarried top his wife Sierra as per Mithila customs. The duo had got married in a white wedding setup in October 2022.
