Revealed: The ‘heist’ element of Shivarajkumar’s Ghost, as film’s synopsis emerges online

When MG Srinivas, the director of the upcoming film Ghost said that he was presenting an action heist thriller and followed that up with the Big Daddy teaser, which featured leading man Shivarajkumar in a gangster avatar, the genre seemed apt. But then, as the days went by, Srini also revealed that a bulk of the narrative of Ghost takes place in a prison, which is what he showed audiences in the trailer as well. Shivarajkumar’s character is seen engaged in action, either to protect the prisoners, or against them, which got fans wondering if the film was more a siege than a heist. In fact, in the trailer, Jayaram’s character is heard asking why Shivarajkumar had targeted a heavily secured jail, rather than a mall or school which would have been a soft target.

Ghost trailer: Fans go ga-ga over Shivarajkumar’s digital de-aging

An eagle-eyed fan has now managed to give us an explanation, having scoured all online resources and stumbling across an official synopsis of Ghost on a ticket aggregator site for overseas bookings. According to this, the plot of Ghost is as follows: “Danny, a mysterious man, holds an ex-CBI head, Vaman, hostage in a high-security prison. Danny and his men are eyeing a massive stash of gold hidden away in that prison. A hostage negotiation officer called Changappa is brought in to try and solve the situation. Can Danny and his gang get away with this heist?” If this in indeed the plot of Ghost, Shivarajkumar is Danny, while Jayaram is Changappa, going by what we’ve seen in the trailer. The character of Vaman remains a mystery that will be unveiled on October 19.
