The veteran actor walked down the memory lane as he recalled the ‘Main Hoon Naa’ days
The year was 2004 when the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Main Hoon Naa’ got released. The film saw the first time pairing of the King Khan Shah Rukh Khan with the former beauty queen Sushmita Sen. The film had an extremely able supporting cast which comprised of veteran actors including Boman Irani Kirron Kher, Murali Sharma, Kabir Bedi, Naseeruddin Shah, Bindu, Satish Shah. While each of these actors had their own ‘personality traits’, the one that will always be evergreen in everyone’s memories is that of Satish Shah’s ‘spitting nature’ while he talks to anyone.

In an interview with ‘Bollywood Bubble’, Satish Shah walked the memory lane and spoke about an incident while shooting for the film ‘Main Hoon Naa’. In the interview, the veteran actor Satish Shah went onto to confess that, after the film ‘main Hoon Naa’, he started calling himself ‘Spitting Cobra’. He also revealed that, in order to get the spitting scene right, he had to practice a lot and it was not trick photography.
He also added that, in order to convince him to do the role of the professor, Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan ‘ne doonon milke chane ke jhaad pe chada diya’. He also revealed the methodology which he had adopted in order to get into the skin of the character. He said that, he used to take a gulp of water and keep it around his mouth and certain words and certain syllables, he used to accentuate in such a way that it used to look like a ‘spray’ when it came out.
And when he used to do it with full hard work, Shah Rukh Khan used to laugh it off, which used to eventually lead to retakes. He added that, there were, in all, eight retakes in all. And during the eight shot as well, when Shah Rukh Khan laughed, they had to insert the shots of Zayed Khan in the middle. He also went onto add that, even after the film was over, he was so much into his character that his spit used to land up on Govinda, who was the hero of the other film!
On the professional front, the veteran actor Satish Shah will now be seen with the undisputed king of comedy Sunil Grover in the forthcoming web series ‘United Kacche’, which happens to be a light-hearted comedy based in the United Kingdom.
Besides Satish Shah and Sunil Grover, ‘United Kacche’ also stars Sapna Pabbi, Nikhil Vijay, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Nayani Dixit and Neelu Kohli in pivotal roles. Produced by Yoodlee Films, the show ‘United Kacche’ will be premiering on ZEE5 on March 31 this year.
