The postponement of Prabhas’ action entertainer Salaar from September 28 to a later date has come as a blessing in disguise for many films. From Skanda to Fukrey 3 to Chandramukhi 2, Rattham and Peddha Kapu, several top films across languages have booked the release slot that ensures an extended first weekend for the makers, bettering their chances to register a strong opening.

There have been many theories around the delay surrounding Salaar, but it’s widely believed that VFX work is one of the reasons that the film was pushed to a later date. However, there’s good news for Prabhas fans today. Reports are doing the rounds that the trailer launch date and the release date of Salaar has been more or less formalised and the details were out on social media today.

Salaar is expected to release in theatres on November 2 across the globe in all five languages and will have a runtime nearing three hours. The team is planning to resume the promotional activity from September 28, where a key announcement may be made. An action-packed, emotional trailer of the biggie is slated for a launch on October 23, nearly 10 days before its theatrical release.

As per an overseas ticket booking portal, Salaar is set in a war-torn city, where the protagonist is caught between the promise he makes to his mother and his loyalty to a friend. Salaar is another name for the king's general, one who leads the king’s army and will reportedly have a violent and emotionally charged narrative. This is Prashanth Neel’s fourth film after KGF 1, 2 besides the Kannada film Ugramm.

Recently Salaar’s OTT rights for the South Indian languages were sold to Netflix for a whopping price and the non-theatrical deals are valued at Rs 350 crore. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Brahmaji, Saptagiri, Sriya Reddy, Jagapathi Babu play other important roles in the film. Salaar will be made in two parts. The first part is titled Salaar Part 1: Cease Fire.
