Arun Vijay’s Retta Thala has begun its shoot. Check out some of the major updates about the upcoming action thriller
Arun Vijay-starrer Retta Thala has commenced its shooting. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to announce that the team has officially kick-started the shooting schedule. The makers also released a new monochromatic poster of Arun Vijay in dual roles.
Earlier when the title and first-look poster was released, fans noted that the title Retta Thala was the one AR Murugadoss had reserved for his film with Ajith. For the unversed, the director-actor duo was planning to do a project together with the same title. However, the project did not materialise and was eventually shelved.
As we all know, Retta Thala is directed by Kris Thirukumaran who earlier helmed Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maan Karate. Kris, who previously assisted AR Murugadoss, had been wanting to direct a film. Now that AR Murugadoss’ project with Ajith has been shelved, Kris has borrowed the title of the project. Sources also reveal that Retta Thala is Kris’ fresh script and is not a revamped project.

Recently in a conversation with OTTplay, director Kris revealed that the film will be an action thriller with Arun Vijay playing dual roles. The director said, “Ondril irundhu ondru (one from one), ondru kaga ondru (one for one), ondru kondru ondru (one kills one). This is the one-liner and the basic idea of the film.” Arun Vijay will be seen in 5 different looks with the actor undergoing a massive physical transformation for the film.
With the film being backed by BTG Universal, the director revealed that the film is being made on a large scale and the producers have planned out the promotions and release.
Apart from Arun Vijay, the film will also feature Siddhi Idnani and Tanya Ravichandran as the female leads. The film’s technical crew consists of music scored by Sam CS, and cinematography by Tijo Tomy. Stunt choreography will be handled by the popular duo AnbAriv.
