The inspiration behind Otta

Resul Pookutty had said that he was inspired by the life of Run Away Children author S Hariharan after he met him at a function where runaway children were returned to their parents. Resul said that he was excited to hear the story of Hariharan, who ran away from home at a young age and went on to open a rehabilitation centre for children.

Otta stars Asif Ali, Arjun Ashokan, and Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead roles. The film also stars other prominent South Indian actors like Sathyaraj and Rohini Molleti, who play Asif Ali's character's parents in the film. According to reports, veteran actress and dancer Shobana will also be playing a role in Otta.

Resul Pookutty Productions and Children Reunited LLP are backing Otta, which is scripted by Kiron Prabhakaran, who is known for the film Thakkol.
