Aamir Khan threw off his shorts and went full monty for the iconic PK scene
Aamir Khan really shed it all for his role in Rajkumar Hirani’s PK. The actor’s poster, where only a guitar covers his private part, instantly caught people’s attention. Upon the movie's release, the scene caught everyone off guard and quickly gained popularity.
Aamir spoke about the exact scene during his time on The Great Indian Kapil Show. He revealed to host Kapil Sharma that initially, Rajkumar Hirani had arranged to cover his frontal parts. However, PK made him go full monty anyway because of a certain demand from the scene. Here’s what happened...
Aamir had stick-on shorts
Kapil asked Aamir about the scene, and Aamir revealed that, while discussing it with Rajkumar Hirani, the director said that Aamir would get half shorts that would cover his frontal area. The scene's demands prevented Aamir from covering his backside. The fabric was stick-on, which made the actor uncomfortable, given that the scene required him to run.
Anxious and embarrassed to go naked on sets
After struggling for a bit, Aamir took the decision to actually go full monty and ran for the scene with just a radio covering his pelvic area. The actor was very embarrassed and anxious at the thought of roaming naked on the sets.
Left all thoughts behind
Aamir said he was so engrossed in the scene that he set aside all thoughts, deciding that even if the director saw him naked, it wouldn't cause much harm. Thus, in that moment, Aamir shared that he wasn’t embarrassed by the bit.
Aamir-Rajkumar’s second collaboration after 3 Idiots
Aamir had collaborated with Rajkumar Hirani on 3 Idiots. The actor revealed that he had almost rejected the film and would have probably not done it if Hirani had not insisted on it. PK marked their second collaboration, and the movie's opening scene eliminated any hesitation Aamir had.
